ECI Development Mission – Socially Responsible Development
The global economy is in flux, and ECI Developments wanted to create a brand and a concept that allowed seniors to choose retirement properties and second homes in places that offered significantly more value for money, while still being assured of the highest standards of quality and service available. ECI Developments is committed to helping retirees maintain their quality of life.
About ECI Development
The company has headquarters in Belize and administrative offices in Nicaragua. With properties and developments in the Caribbean and on the Pacific Ocean in Nicaragua, Belize, Panama and Costa Rica, ECI Development is determined to provide socially responsible development of select properties in Central America that will ensure a lowered cost of investment, which translates to a lowered cost of living without losing any of the benefits of senior community living in the United States.
ECI Development Leadership Team
ECI Development was co-founded by Joel Nagel and Michael Cobb, who left a successful career in the computer industry to pursue new challenges and opportunities in the Americas. In 1996, he formed a company called Exotic Caye International, which provided loans to American citizens purchasing property in Central America. The company eventually transitioned into a full-service banking institution and Michael moved on to lead the team at ECI Development, focusing on the purchase and development of select properties in the region.
Eric Littlefield is President of ECI, bringing with him over 20 years of extensive experience at the David Drye Company.
Patrick Herbert leads the team as Chief Operating Officer. An entrepreneur who successfully founded and sold two software companies, Patrick moved to Nicaragua, where he has lived and worked for ECI Development over the past eleven years.
Resorts and Communities
ECI Development currently has three senior communities, with more in planning stages. Gran Pacifica, located on Nicaragua’s Pacific shore, is ECI’s flagship community development. Designed to exacting North American building standards, the community resort offers a full range of amenities and luxury options for residents and guests. Grand Baymen is found on Ambergris Caye Island in Belize, and offers numerous amenities for its residents and guests. The senior community and attached resort are located right on the ocean. Gran Caribbean rounds off the trio, and is found in Limon, Costa Rica/ It covers over 1100 acres and includes deep water canal access and river frontage. A marina is planned for the resort.
ECI Development has partnered with several companies to ensure that the highest standards are met during the construction process. Both US based and local subsidiaries, ECI Development is dedicated to working with companies in joint ventures to make sure that the highest service levels are maintained.
